update

We are slowly trying to move into our new home...most of our stuff doesn't get here until next week so for now....we are living out of suitcases!!! We have a bed set up in our dining room (!!!) which Tara thinks is a blast:)  I have so many projects swirling all around my brain...I can't stand it!!! My studio is cosy and spacious (and painted a warm sunflower yellow now) and has a huge huge huge closet that I want to convert into an office so I can keep my creating area vs biz area separate. I have been looking at so many great ideas and inspirations. There is this one here from Country Living that has swoon factor written all over it!! This one here from Apartment Therapy that seems more doable....love the yellows!! And all of these great ideas from Design Sponge. Hmmm!!!  I am writing down all sorts of ideas in my notebook let me tell you.

This part of settling in is no fun....but in the meantime...we have all the important stuff....Tara's dolly, some books, tea, my journal, computer hookup (!!), camera + inspiration.

sparkles and smiles

Tara was all sparkles and smiles (as you can see!!) and, not surprisingly, most of the gifts from Santa were for her:) Our realtor had this huge teddy and adorable tree all decked out and waiting for us so Tara wouldn't be without one this year. Thanks so much dear sweet Illona-you are an angel!!

We had a relaxed Xmas day...opening up gifts in the morning....Tara's fave was her princess "big girl" bike. And then we had a laid back lunch. I meant to take lots of pics but once the wine and laughter and chatting and eating started...I forgot all about it!! I don't even have a single family pic. from this Xmas. Oh well...I have so many great memories, stories, laughter, precious moments all kept right here in my heart.

Well...we took it easy on Xmas day but have been working non-stop since then!! Trying to move into our new house (which is simply beautiful)...I picked out the paint color for my studio (it's  a gorgeous sunflower yellow)...planning all sorts of projects for Tara's nursery. I am so excited and we are very very happy to be settling in. When I  look out the windows....I see snow (lots and lots) and mountains and trees. Peaceful and beautiful. I have so much to share...I hope you all had a wonderful Xmas as well and I will be visiting blogs and getting back to e-mails soon...I promise. xxx

We have been so busy busy here...unpacking and settling in. We are tired but...so happy to be here. I took these pics early this morning while everyone was asleep...

The gorgeous stunning...crazy beautiful rose bushes in our backyard. And they are in bloom right now!!! Oh...and just love those banana trees! Plus...there is a secret garden that we had no idea was there...hidden away...a wonderful, magical surprise. Can't wait to show you pics!

The area behind us is a wildlife preservation area...lots of cactus and wild blooms. The backyard is very private and secluded.

My studio!!! The early morning light is just stunning..it's a small and cosy space but has tons of light pouring in. Can't wait to get things set up! My very own studio...so so happy!! The rest of the house is an absolute mess with boxes everywhere. But...we are slowly making progress. Tara is so happy to finally see all of her toys unpacked. Our first priority is to set up her nursery. We still haven't had a homecooked meal...but soon, very soon!
