The Beauty of a "Negative"...

So many times, what appears to be a "negative" is really a messenger bearing the most wonderful gifts! A "negative" forces us to see things from a completely different perspective (of course, the choice is always ours). But once we do...we see the most startling beauty. Strengths we never knew we had...inner fortitude, grace and...such deep reserves of love, kindness and tenderness. This is where the colors of our soul can really..shine.... in all their magnificence, These are opportunities to carry us to places within ourselves we never knew we had. Or to create those places from the raw materials of pain, heartache, disappointment, frustration, rejection...So many times, if we allow a "negative" to show us HER beauty, we will be amazed..and transformed.

So true, many times.... and we know as we go through negative phases that we are probably growing and learning but it still doesn't make it any easier. Given the choice I would probably choose my comfort zone so its just as well we aren't often given the choice. Food for thought.

How much happier would we be if we could remember that in the negative moment! Thanks for the reminder.

Love your concept about the negative. As a transcendentalist photographer i shoot old school 4x5 negatives and this is the beginning, how i illustrate through light, literally and metaphorically. You're right is our choice to see the negative as a positive. We can choose to use our light to transcend darkness and create the life we want - illuminated and free! Thanks for this post. nice!

This is an excellent post and so very true. Negatives are so often a chance for change & growth. We learn so much through these challenges and if we could learn to embrace these negatives instead of fighting against them we'd be so much better off.

When I get home I want to add a link to this post in my lightbearers section on my blog if you don't mind?

Amazingly true and refreshing look at "negative". So much wisdom, and it is so clever and enticing how you tied this "negative" image with your words. You did manage to make this negative 'beautiful'. Words and deed in total balance. Gotta have a negative to create a positive...absolutely.
