forced to slow down

Dear friends...I am sick. It all started quite suddenly on Friday night and by the time I went to the Urgent Care Center on Sunday morning...I was in the thick of runny eyes,, chills + fever etc. I have an upper respiratory viral flu which means...lots of rest and fluids and meds. Of course...with Tim being away for work and with Tara who needs my constant care + attention...it's been pretty difficult. Thank the heavens we have some pretty great neighbours who have been there for us. I am surprised it didn't happen sooner because I was just doing waaaay too much. For some reason I thought I could unpack everything (by myself), set up my studio, re-open my Etsy shop, convert my closet into an office, etc etc all while taking care of Tara, looking for classes for her etc. I think it's just my body saying "hey!! we told you to slow down and since you don't have the good sense to listen...we're stepping in!!". Now I have no choice...I have to slow down:) xxx

oh, i know exactly where you are. i have pushed myself to the point of sheer exhaustion before. you know what you need: rest, time, good thoughts, hot tea, long baths with eucalyptus oil, and deep sleep. the "stuff" will wait. it always does.

Soraya dear...Take good care of yourself. I wish I was close enough to bring soup and muffins, but from afar I'm sending you my good energy and love! xo

The body always wins even though we run around thinking we are in control of it! Be gentle with yourself ... oh how I remember days rounding up tons of toys and things into our bedroom and locking my girl and myself up! Of course we ended up watching Sesame Street and videos all day long ... and my girl enjoyed the special "treat" of prepared and fast food!

Sending lots of love your way.
