inspiration nook

This is my little inspiration nook; I have wanted to share this space with you for such a long time but never got around to it. There is a ledge that sits right behind our front door that I have converted into my little "go to for inspiration" nook. There are books, journals, a sketchbook, photos, cards...There's the Owl Woman totem that I adore and behind her sits one of Tara's paintings I matted and framed.

Here is a sweet Autumn card from dear Jane that I absolutely love...the colors just sing. A poem from Pablo Neruda "autumn greets each of us at the door/with fiery light/saying/this is love"...thanks Jane. And a cup of pens + markers because I can never seem to find them when I need them:)

Gorgeous roses and a beautiful bird card. Not only does this little space make me ever so happy, it's practical too. Whenever I have an idea for a painting, blog post, to-do list etc...I just go over and write it down. When Tara  takes her afternoon nap or is playing in her kitchen...I can grab a book for a short while. I think it's so important to make little spaces throughout our homes (+ lives) for creativity, don't you?

Oh yes I do think it's important to have a bit of space and a nook for yourself every day! I love yours, and I'm very glad that you create time and space for what you need! I'm up at 5a.m. to get my time, and it's worth the lack of sleep! xo smiles, Jane

Your inspiration nook should be very inspiring with so many of your favorite things there in one spot. I like that idea. At my house my things are everywhere and I can never find what I want.

Soraya, I love this!! (I can't remember seeing it, tho). Such a great idea... my stuff is kind of scattered all over the place... will have to work on that. No wonder you always seem so inspired (and inspiring!)
