seeker of the brave

(Seeker of the Brave, archival prints available here!!)
"All paths lead to the same goal:to convey to others how we are. And we must pass through solitude and difficulty, isolation and silence, in order to reach forth to the enchanted place where we can dance our clumsy dance and sing our sorrowful song-but in this dance or in this song there are fulfilled the most ancient rites of our conscience in the awareness of being human and of believing in our common destiny."         -Pablo Neruda
                                                            (yesterday)
I can't help but notice how we are all connected in the most intricate of ways. How there is a sacred thread that runs through the common experiences of our humanity. How we can't necessarily tell just by looking at someone what kind of anguish and loss...joy and sorrow they may have faced...that they may still be immersed in. Our lives are full of difficulties and trying. Yet... we can still feel the fullness of our abundance and the wonder of our lives. As I get older I realise that I am not going to be here forever. Each day holds a magic and a promise that I live on purpose, seek my truth and hold on to my bravery.
                                                                  (today)
We  try to do "our clumsy dance"...and ... in that awkwardness and frailty lie the very essence of our beauty. In our tender, vulnerable pieces...lies our strength and the source of our courage. When we wake up each morning and love, work, create, sing, cry, paint, write, reach out. When we try our best even though we are...
scared
tired
worn down
hurting
hopeless
ragged
lost
broken
we are seeking the brave in ourSELVES. And it's there...
rising to meet us.

I really needed to read this post today ... thank you dear friend! for some reason I have been walking under some dark, lonely trees and not feeling very brave ... but then I remind myself I did paint, I did create, I did take action to build for myself a small bonfire of comfort if not hope ...

I am just remembering that I had a dream in which you had written this gorgeous cookbook! Perhaps an omen of a book to come ... recipes for joyful living?

love to you this day ... and always ...

xo Lis

Beautifully written. I wish everyone could be aware of that "sacred thread that runs through the common experiences of our humanity." Then we would realize we're all connected. No one is alone....we can be brave.
