We have been busy busy creating over here. My altered book goodies arrived today so I am in heaven...experimenting and playing and learning (thank you google!!) like crazy! I feel like a whole new world has opened up...and it feels so delicious to simply play without the intention of creating a finished piece. This afternoon while Tara was taking her nap, I made the cover of this little journal (a book board complete with binding rings from 7 Gypsies)...I am obsessed!! I just can't wait to complete the whole book...I think I am going to add some photos, journaling, Indian fabric to the rings...The possibilities are endless.
In other news, this was a super eventful week over here! On Tues, Tara and I had a lunch date at the beach with Pat. It was so wonderful to just chat, open our hearts and talk about...well, everything.
And then yesterday evening Jane came over for an artist date. So after Tara went to sleep, we got out our altered books and all sorts of goodies....chatting and creating and laughing...
Part of art making and creating is feeding our souls. Nurturing connections and friendships with kindred spirits feeds our creativity in so many ways. Here we can be ourSELVES. We don't have to explain who we are, what we do.
Well, Tim is home this evening so we have a super long weekend...so excited! We are off for a few days...Hope you all have a great weekend too...make art, make love, make life!

Girl you're done for now! The possibilities are endless. I love looking at all the altered books/art out there. They truly are a creation of such individuality. It's beautiful, looking forward to seeing more.

Soraya, it sounds like we are on the same page as far as our artistic endeavors! I am having a ball trying new stuff and also had an artist date with a friend this week. Sorry we will miss you today, but have a fabulous weekend! Maybe we can talk before we leave on Wed.
