a safe flight

We had a safe (if tiring) flight out here...and it feels a bit disorienting with the 3 hour time difference. Tara did really well but it was difficult for her, poor tyke. It feels a bit surreal that this will be our new home..Tim actually proposed to me (about 5 years ago) right here in Balboa Park! It's going to take a few days for us to adjust to the time difference...especially little Tara-poo; she normally wakes up at 7 a.m but that's 4 a.m. here!!!!

Burned Out...

I have been feeling it coming for the past week now...but yesterday evening it came upon me full force. I am in full  "burned out" mode! After months of multitasking and getting inadequate sleep, juggling Tara during the day and painting/business stuff at night...it hit me last night. I could feel it in the lack of energy I had, just going through the motions and feeling BLAH and overwhelmed! So for the next couple of days I am going to take a hiatus from computer/blog/painting/business stuff. Not even think about it at all! Tara and I are going to enjoy each other...have a tea party, read Alice in Wonderland, lollygag in bed and sing at the top of our lungs, soak in the tub and sit under a fat moon with citronella candles and a blanket of stars. For the next 2 days I am going to catch up on some easy reading, go to bed at a reasonable hour and just...be present. Happy weekend to you all.
